With the UVLYNC, Ultraviolette aims to democratise AC charging facilities to all electric two-wheeler owners.
Bengaluru-based premium electric bike manufacturer, Ultraviolette Automotive has unveiled a new charging solution called UVLYNC. This Type 2 charging interface will allow electric motorcycles to use charging stations that were originally built for cars. Thus aiming to bridge the gap between electric two-wheelers and existing car charging networks. Ultraviolette claims that this charging interface will give access to over 4,000+ AC charging stations across the country.
The interface works with Ultraviolette's F77 motorcycle, and the company plans to make it available to other electric two-wheeler brands as well. This means riders won't have to rely solely on dedicated two-wheeler charging points, making it easier to plan longer trips.
This new charging solution comes at a time when India is actively promoting electric vehicle use. The technology addresses a key problem in India's EV market - limited charging options for two-wheelers, which make up the largest portion of vehicles on Indian roads. “By providing a universal interface, this solution expands charging possibilities and fosters greater confidence in embracing electric mobility. As more riders transition to EVs, the UVLYNC will not only simplify daily charging needs but also accelerate the development of an inclusive and robust electric ecosystem nationwide,” concluded Niraj Rajmohan, Co-Founder and CTO, Ultraviolette
