Two models have been launched, one with two-way recording, and the other with three-way recording.
Uno Minda, best known in the automotive industry as an OEM supplier of components and accessories, has now launched two dashcams for retail aftermarket buyers. They can be purchased online and fitted into any car. The company is targeting anyone worried about road safety, pointing out the need for video evidence in case of accidents involving rash driving or blind spots, among other factors.
Deep Market Insights values India’s dashcam market at $71.34 Million (approximately ₹632 crore) in 2024, projects it more than tripling to $240.05 Million (approximately ₹2,129 crore) by 2033.
Two models have been launched, one with two-way recording (front and rear), and the other with three-way recording (front, rear, and in-cabin). Both have 3.39-inch LCD screens. They will be available for purchase on Amazon and Flipkart, along with other authorised retailers.
Both offer smartphone integration and built-in Wi-Fi so users can check footage easily and share clips when needed. Both models are compatible with microSD cards up to 256GB, and support automatic overwriting so older footage is replaced when space runs low. The units also have sensors and will automatically protect recent footage from being overwritten in case impact is detected.
The Uno Minda 3 Channel Car Dash Cam DVR is priced at ₹14,999. It is capable of up to 4K (front) and 1K (rear and in-cabin) video quality. The cameras have 120-140 degree fields of view. On the other hand, the Uno Minda 2 Channel Car Dash Cam DVR offers up to 4K (front) video recording with a 160-degree field of view, and 1K (rear) camera resolution.
