Auto components manufacturer Uno Minda Limited has approved a raft of senior management changes and sanctioned investment in renewable energy ventures, following a board meeting held on Monday. Three senior appointments take effect from 1 April 2026.
Rakesh Kher, who has led the Aftermarket Domain as Chief Executive, moves to a newly defined role of Chief Strategy Officer and Advisor for the same division. Kher, a graduate of REC Rourkela with a postgraduate engineering qualification from IIT Kharagpur and an MBA from FMS Delhi, brings more than four decades of experience spanning strategy, manufacturing, and aftermarket sales. He joined Uno Minda in 2004, having previously held positions at Larsen & Toubro, Cookson India Limited, and Advani Oerlikon Limited.
Vishal Kaul, formerly Business Head of the Aftermarket Domain, has been promoted to Chief Executive of that division and formally designated as Senior Management Personnel. Kaul has spent more than 25 years working across automotive aftermarket, consumer electronics, and industrial products. He holds a postgraduate management qualification from ISB Hyderabad and a mechanical engineering degree from V.J.T.I., University of Mumbai. The funding will come from Uno Minda Limited and two subsidiaries, Uno Mindarika Private Limited and Uno Minda Kyoraku Limited, and is aimed at sourcing open-access renewable power for their manufacturing units in Haryana and Tamil Nadu.
Under the arrangement, Uno Minda Limited will invest ₹630 lakh in Hexa Energy MH7 Private Limited to serve its Haryana facilities, and ₹0.20 lakh in RC Green Powers Private Limited for its Tamil Nadu unit. Uno Mindarika Private Limited will put in ₹70 lakh in Hexa Energy MH11 Private Limited, while Uno Minda Kyoraku Limited will invest ₹50 lakh in Hexa Energy MH2 Private Limited. Each entity will acquire up to a 30 per cent equity stake in its respective SPV, with allocation based on proportionate capacity.
