From price announcements to all-new model debuts, there’s plenty in store in January 2026.
January 2026 is going to kick-off car launches with a bang with multiple new offerings. The new-year rest is going to be shorter with price announcements and all-new models lined up right from January 2 onwards. If you are in the market to bring home a new car, keep put because there are going to be several new cars to choose from. Let’s take a look at the most exciting car launches of January 2026.

The new-generation Kia Seltos made its global debut earlier this month. It’s bigger, bolder and better in every sense. The new Seltos gets completely new styling, bigger proportions, and even more feature-packed interiors. We drove the SUV recently and came back impressed with how much of a better package it has turned out to be. We know nearly everything about the SUV at this point, barring the price. And that’s what Kia will reveal on January 2. The outgoing Kia Seltos is priced between ₹10.79 lakh and ₹19.81 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and expect prices to be marginally higher for the new-gen version.

Up next, Maruti’s maiden EV holds big promises. The new Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara promises to fulfil all the requirements of the family car buyer with a comfortable cabin, stylish exterior, and a usable range of 543 km (ARAI certified) from the 61 kWh battery pack. What’s equally impressive is Maruti’s push for an expansive charging infrastructure, leveraging its sales and service touchpoints across the country. Pricing will be crucial to the e-Vitara’s success, especially against models like the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG Windsor, Mahindra BE 6, and the upcoming Tata Sierra EV.

The Tata Harrier and Safari finally get the petrol option after years and years of waiting. We recently drove the petrol-powered SUVs, which not only get the new powertrain but pack more features and a new top-end variant too. The 1.5-litre T-GDI turbocharged engine has been borrowed from the new Sierra, but optimised to handle the additional weight of the bigger models. The new Harrier and Safari petrol will be crucial to markets like Delhi-NCR, while addressing the requirements in other petrol-friendly markets in the country. Prices are expected to start around ₹13.50 lakh, bringing a new iteration of the SUVs for customers.

The compact SUV that started it all, is all set to make a comeback. The new-generation Duster is set to return on January 26, 2026. The Duster nameplate holds a soft corner for many in India, especially with the diesel powertrain, a rugged build and the option of All-Wheel Drive (AWD) available at the time. The new-gen Duster is expected to keep up with the times, swapping the sparse interior for a more upmarket one, an all-new design for the Indian market, and the option of only petrol engines. We do hope Renault retains the rugged ethos of the Duster with the latest iteration, setting it apart from rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Tata Sierra, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, and the like.

Nissan will finally expand its lineup in India with a new MPV. The Japanese automaker has confirmed that the upcoming offering will be called the ‘Nissan Gravite’, and is expected to share its underpinnings with the Renault Triber. The teasers reveal a completely different design and a revised interior, but expect Nissan to retain the seven-seater configuration cleverly packed within the 4-metre mark. The Nissan Gravite is expected to be showcased next month, while the price announcement will take place later in the year.
