The Astor gets new features and a revamped trim line-up with the update.
MG Motor India has launched the updated Astor compact SUV, with prices ranging between ₹9.98 lakh and ₹17.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This makes the Astor the most affordable compact SUV in India. With this update, the Astor gets new features and a revamped trim line-up. However, powertrain options remain the same as before.
Trims | Petrol MT | Petrol AT | Turbo-petrol AT |
---|---|---|---|
Sprint | ₹9.98 lakh | NA | NA |
Shine | ₹11.68 lakh | NA | NA |
Select | ₹12.98 lakh | ₹13.98 lakh | NA |
Sharp Pro | ₹14.41 lakh | ₹15.68 lakh | NA |
Savvy Pro | NA | ₹16.58 lakh (Ivory) ₹16.68 lakh (Sangria) | ₹17.90 lakh (Sangria) |
The Astor’s trim line-up now consists of Sprint, Shine, Select, Sharp Pro and Savvy Pro, replacing the previous trims – Style, Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy. Apart from this, the biggest change in the Astor is the addition of the new i-Smart 2.0, an updated version of MG’s in-car infotainment system. It gets an updated user interface (UI) and more than 80 connected car features.
The i-Smart 2.0 also comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, anti-theft immobilisation and widget customisation on the home screen. However, it continues with the existing 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen. While earlier, MG’s personal AI assistant was available on the top two trims, it is now available on the top three trims.
Other new features on the Astor include ventilated front seats, a wireless charger and an auto-dimming IRVM. The Astor continues to get 14 ADAS features, a digital key, a panoramic sunroof and more.
As mentioned earlier, there are no changes to the powertrain options of the 2024 MG Astor. It continues with the same 108 bhp, 144 Nm, 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual and a CVT and a 138 bhp, 220 Nm, 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Cosmetically, there are also no changes to the MG Astor.
Gaurav Gupta, Deputy Managing Director, MG Motor India, said, “We are committed to meeting our customers’ expectations with products that showcase the latest in automobile technology. Keeping to this promise and as a brand celebrating its centenary this year, the Astor 2024 line-up offers a combination of features, design, and great value propositions which delight car buyers."
