This will be Vida’s second product in its portfolio next to the Vida V2.
Hero’s all-electric sub-brand, Vida, is gearing up to launch its second electric scooter tomorrow, the VX2. It will essentially be the rebadged, production version of the Vida Z concept electric scooter, which first broke cover at EICMA 2024 and was later showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year. Therefore, right from the silhouette down to its panel design has all remained identical as the concept scooter, and yet there will be a few subtle revisions. Hero has released quite a few teasers, building up to this launch, and here’s what we know so far.
Variants
The Hero Vida VX2 is anticipated to launch in two variants – Go and Plus. The primary differences between these two will lie in their battery packs, wherein the former will get a smaller option, while the latter will get a bigger option. Feature-wise, Hero might keep a few reserved for the top-spec Plus, which in turn will further help price the “Go” trim at a lower asking price.
Just like the Vida V2, the upcoming Vida VX2 is also expected to come with removable battery packs as standard. Additionally, Hero will also introduce the Battery-As-A-Service subscription model with it, which will allow the brand to price the scooter more affordably. Customers will need to pay for the electric scooter only, and not the battery which usually commands 40-50% of the asking price. While exact size of the battery packs are still under wraps, we’re expecting Hero might use the same 3.7 kWh and 2.2 kWh options from the V2.
From LED headlight and tail light to a digital dashboard that can be controlled via a joystick along with an emergency SOS button – the Vida VX2 will have a lot of features on offer. However, there won’t be any keyless start-stop option on offer here, and instead will make do with a conventional key, as can be observed here.
Despite its affordable quotient, the Vida VX2 will have quite the premium and upmarket appeal, as we have noticed on the Vida Z. Further elevating its stature will be those bright colour options on offer. The teasers have already revealed a bright red option, which makes the scooter look quite vibrant. Additionally, you’ll also get colour options like a Blue, Yellow, and Grey options.
This is where matters get interesting. Hero is expected to price the electric scooter starting from ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom). A lot of OEMs have been launching electric scooters in this price range, and Hero is expected to do the same as well. But by how much less premium that remains to be seen.
