Vietnamese carmaker, VinFast has introduced the new MPV 7 electric seven-seater in India. The new VinFast MPV 7 has been launched, and is available in a single fully loaded variant priced at ₹24.49 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the automaker’s third offering for the Indian market after the VF 6 and VF 7, and is targeted at family buyers looking for a long-range electric family mover. Pre-bookings for the MPV 7 commenced earlier this month, while deliveries are set to begin soon. The MPV 7 comes to India as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kit, and is locally assembled at VInFast's plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.

The new VinFast MPV 7 measures 4,740 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm. The width and height measure 1,872 mm and 1,734 mm respectively. Power comes from the front-wheel drive (FWD) electric motor tuned for 201 bhp and 280 Nm of peak torque. 0-100 kmph comes up in under 10 seconds. The model is equipped with a 60.13 kWh battery pack, and the automaker claims a range of 517 km on a single charge. VinFast says the MPV 7 can charge from 10 t0 70 per cent in just 30 minutes, using a fast charger.
The India-spec VinFast MPV 7 is identical to the Vietnamese version on the outside. The design remains the same featuring the brand’s signature styling, LED headlamps, connected taillights, and the quirky 19-inch alloy wheels. The tall stance gives the MPV 7 an imposing presence, while maximising head room and legroom in the cabin.

The cabin layout is simple with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the auto climate control on the dashboard. There is no conventional instrument cluster on the MPV 7, nor does the model get a head-up display. The India-spec model comes with a dual-tone brown and black theme with leatherette upholstery, while there’s an all-black colour theme for the interior. The gear selector has been moved to the steering column, unlike the VF 7.
Most features are embedded in the infotainment screen with the necessary information. The electric seven-seater comes with a six-way adjustable driver’s seat, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Connectivity, a multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, single-zone climate control, Type-A and Typ-C USB charging ports at the front and rear, and more. The steering wheel is adjustable for rake and reach. The model comes with theatre-style seating, so the second and third-row passengers sit slightly higher with a clearer view of the road. The rear seats also come with air vents and cupholders, while the rear doors get bottle holders. The boot capacity measures 126 litres with all three rows up, and goes up to 1240 litres with the second and third-row seats folded. The MPV 7 will be available in six colour options right from the launch.
