The VF6 and VF7 will launch in India in August, once VinFast inaugurates its Thoothukudi plant in Tamil Nadu, which is expected to happen either in late July or early August. VinFast said it will begin deliveries of these two models post the launch in August. Both these vehicles will be assembled locally at the Thoothukudi plant, which should help VinFast price these two very competitively.
VinFast has partnered with 13 leading dealer groups in India to open 32 dealerships in 27 cities. The brand will operate on a 3S (Sales, Service and Spares) model, which should help ensure a robust sales and after-sales network. VinFast has also partnered up with myTVS, RoadGrid and Global Assure to build a nationwide charging infrastructure.

Not a lot of details about the India-spec VF6 and VF7 have been revealed, but it’s safe to expect it not to be different from the global-spec model. The VF6 could come with single-motor and dual-motor variants, with the former producing 174 bhp and 250 Nm, while the latter churning out 201 bhp and 350 Nm. Both have the same 59.6 kWh battery pack, and the single-motor variant is expected to have a range of 399 km, while the dual-motor variant’s range is expected to be around 381 km.
Similarly, the VF7 will also likely get two variants – single-motor and dual-motor. Both variants feature a 75.3 kWh battery pack. The front-wheel-drive variant offers 201 bhp and 310 Nm, with a claimed range of up to 450 km. In contrast, the higher variant delivers 348 bhp and 500 Nm, providing a claimed range of 431 km.
