Volkswagen has teased the Taigun facelift ahead of its April 9 reveal. The SUV is set to receive updated styling, new features, and possibly a new 8-speed automatic gearbox option.
Volkswagen has released the first teaser of the updated Taigun, confirming its India reveal on April 9. The facelifted SUV is set to receive a series of design tweaks, feature additions, and a potential update to its transmission lineup.
The teaser image highlights subtle revisions to the Taigun’s exterior. These include a refreshed LED daytime running lamp signature, a redesigned front bumper with blacked-out inserts, and a new set of alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV is expected to feature updated LED tail lamps.
Earlier spy shots of test mules have revealed additional enhancements such as full-width LED light bars at both ends, a revised rear bumper, and illuminated Volkswagen logos inspired by larger global models. The facelift is also likely to feature all-LED headlamps for a more modern lighting setup.
Inside, the updated Taigun is expected to step up its feature list. Likely additions include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and a 360-degree camera system. The SUV may also introduce segment-first elements such as rear seat massage functions.
Mechanically, the Taigun facelift is expected to retain its existing 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines. Transmission options will likely include the new 8-speed automatic option which debuted on the Skoda Kushaq facelift recently.
Once launched, the updated Taigun will continue to compete in a massive segment with key players such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Renault Duster, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Honda Elevate, and its own mechanical twin, the Skoda Kushaq.
