The third-gen Tiguan R-Line is expected to cost more than ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Volkswagen is launching its premium, sporty SUV, the Tiguan, in India on April 14, 2025. The Tiguan, now in its third-generation, comes to India with the fully-loaded R-Line trim. Volkswagen recently discontinued the second-gen Tiguan, which was the only generation available in India in multiple versions.
While we know almost everything about the Tiguan R-Line, the price is the only thing remaining for Volkswagen to reveal on April 14. Because it is an R-Line variant, the new Tiguan won’t be cheap. Expect it to cost around ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom, India) or even more than that. For reference, the previous gen was priced at ₹38.17 lakh (ex-showroom, India) right before it was discontinued.
The new Tiguan is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 201 bhp and 320 Nm on tap, while the previous one had 188 bhp and 320 Nm. The third-gen Tiguan gets a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The new Tiguan also comes with Dynamic Chassis Control Pro, Volkswagen’s adaptive suspension, which allows you to adjust the damping of the car to change the car’s characteristics from comfort to sport.
Inside, the new Tiguan will come with a 15-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch virtual instrument cluster, two wireless chargers, a head-up display, massaging seats, 30-colour ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and more. It also has 9 airbags, a hill start assist, hill descent control, all four disc brakes, and 21 ADAS features.
