Will Benelli Tornado 400 Launch In India?

Last year at the EICMA motorcycle show Benelli showcased the new Tornado 400. Although the model was later launched in Europe, and given the recent influx of 400cc bikes in India, there’s a possibility that the same might make its way to India as well.

Powered by a 399cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine, the Benelli Tornado 400’s output figures are rated at 47.6 bhp and 38 Nm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The engine is nestled inside a tubular steel frame chassis. Suspension duties are taken care of by a 37mm USD fork and a monoshock. Brakes include Nissin 2 piston floating calipers at both ends with a 300 mm disc up front and a 240 mm disc at the rear.

The curvy yet sharp-lined bodywork of the Tornado 400 trickles down from the Tornado lineup. The fairing design is adorned by vertically styled LED headlamps at the front. The raised rear section with split seats further enhances its sporty appearance.Some of the stand out features available with the bike include a 5-inch full-color TFT display with Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, USB charging, and TPMS.

The sub-500cc segment has witnessed the introduction of various motorcycles. In India, the Aprilia RS457 and Yamaha R3 are the latest entrants, while the updated KTM 390 remains a strong competitor. Notably, the Ninja 400 stands out as the priciest option. With the segment evolving, there's a likelihood that Benelli could join in and introduce the Tornado 400 in India by 2025 at the latest, expected to be priced around ₹4 lakhs.
