Xiaomi 14 phones are scheduled for a 27 October launch in China.
Xiaomi has set tongues wagging with the introduction of its forthcoming HyperOS software, set to replace the existing MIUI. Concurrently, leaked information about the imminent Xiaomi 14 mobile phones has also surfaced. These new handsets, scheduled for a 27 October launch in China, will be the debut vehicles for HyperOS.
According to the leaks, the standard Xiaomi 14 model is likely to feature a 6.44-inch OLED display, boasting crisp 1.5K resolution and a rapid 120Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, the screen will offer high brightness levels and support top-notch colour standards, including Dolby Vision.
Beneath the exterior, the device is anticipated to utilise a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is yet to be formally announced by Qualcomm. This chipset is expected to make its debut at Qualcomm's upcoming event in Hawaii.
In terms of memory and storage capabilities, the phone is rumoured to include fast LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The handset is also said to come equipped with a 4,600mAh battery, which supports rapid charging via a 90W wired charger or a 50W wireless option. A 10W reverse charging function is also anticipated.
On the camera front, the phone is expected to feature three 50-megapixel sensors, including a specialised OmniVision sensor for the primary camera.
Additional features to look out for comprise stereo speakers located on both sides of the device, along with water and dust resistance credentials. The phone is also predicted to incorporate a unique acoustic motor and an extensive cooling system to prevent overheating.
