The international variant will have a different software stack.
The Chinese version of Xiaomi's latest flagship phones was introduced in September, with the international versions, based on the global ROM of HyperOS, slated for unveiling at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It's now been disclosed that the international Xiaomi 14 Ultra will come in two versions: a standard model with an aluminium frame and an exclusive titanium edition. The base 14 model will feature 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, with options to upgrade to 16GB RAM with 512GB and 1TB storage. However, the titanium edition will be exclusively available with the top-tier 1TB and 16GB RAM configuration.
This device is driven by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The titanium edition will carry a slightly higher price tag — in China, it costs CNY 500 more, which translates to approximately $69. Apple and Samsung have popularised the idea of a titanium frame on flagship smartphones in the last 6 months. Xiaomi, of course, has dabbled with unique materials as well -- it used a ceramic back on the Mi 11 Ultra in 2021, and even in the past, on its Mix series of smartphones, it has used the material.
This phone is anticipated to boast impressive camera capabilities. The collaboration between Leica and Xiaomi is expected to advance with a quad 50-megapixel array, featuring a new Sony LYT 900 series 1-inch type sensor as the primary camera, accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide, 50-megapixel 3.2x telephoto, and a 50-megapixel 5x telephoto camera. All equipped with Leica optics and custom tuning, potentially positioning it as one of the top camera phones of the year.
The device's display technology is also noteworthy, featuring a 6.73-inch 120Hz qHD+ LTP panel, IP68 water and dust resistance, and a 5,300mAh battery with 90W wired charging. It will also be one of the first phones to operate on HyperOS, running Android 14 with access to Google apps.

HyperOS is a significant highlight of this MWC reveal, as it's also the envisioned OS for Xiaomi's debut car.
Xiaomi's founder and billionaire, Lei Jun, expressed his eagerness on Twitter, "Can't wait to bring what we've been working on to the global audience at #MWC24,” suggesting an innovative Human x Car x Home concept. He subsequently shared an ASMR video showcasing its first EV — the technologically advanced SU7.
Xiaomi is reportedly considering launching not only the Xiaomi 14 Pro but also the Ultra models, as it prepares to premiumise its portfolio in India, given that the segment is driving profitability for the industry.
