Yamaha has changed the name of the bike for the Brazilian market.
The Yamaha FZ-25 has been updated for 2025, which sees the street naked gain a bunch of new features and colour options. But most importantly, from 2025 onwards, the Yamaha FZ-25 will be called the Novo Frazer FZ-25 Connected. Now the Yammie might have been launched in Brazil, but given the kind of updates that Yamaha has introduced, it might also launch the 2025 FZ-25 in India.
For starters, the FZ-25 has gained a brand new fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. Thereby, connectivity features like call/SMS alerts and phone battery levels will be displayed, but sadly there’s no turn-by-turn navigation available. It will connect to Yamaha’s Y-Connect App, so a full diagnostic of the bike will be available.

Beyond these, Yamaha has also upgraded the headlight from bulb to LED units. Similarly, the turn indicators are now also LED units. Lastly, there are two new colour options: Branco Crystal and Titanium Grey. With the former option, the FZ-25 can also be specced out with golden alloys.
Besides these updates, the Novo Frazer Yamaha FZ-25 Connected is essentially the same. Everything, from its chassis to its suspension setup and even the 21.3 bhp-strong 249 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, has remained unchanged.

With all of the above updates, Yamaha had to revise the Novo Frazer FZ-25 Connected’s asking price from BRL 22,90,000 to BRL 23,59,000 – (equivalent to ₹3.50 lakh; excluding Indian tax and duties).

Yes, the updated Yamaha street fighter has been launched in the Brazilian market. In India, it was discontinued back in 2020 due to dwindling sales numbers. However, with the latest updates the Yamaha FZ-25 has become quite relevant. Will this relevance make Yamaha decide to relaunch the bike in India, again? Only time will tell.
