Along with that, the Yamaha YZF-R15 also debuts smartphone connectivity in the Indonesian market.
Yamaha has unveiled the 2025 update for its popular small sportbike, the YZF-R15, in Indonesia. The refresh brings two significant changes to the model: smartphone connectivity and a new colour option. Now, Indonesian riders can enjoy the smartphone integration feature that was previously exclusive to the Indian market. This addition allows users to connect their phones to the bike's digital display, enabling features like ride tracking and maintenance reminders, bringing a touch of high-tech functionality to the compact sportbike segment.
On the aesthetic front, Yamaha has introduced a sleek all-black colour scheme. This new option joins the existing lineup of blue, grey/black, and grey/silver, giving riders more choices to express their personal style. Despite these updates, the core of the R15 remains unchanged, which is a testament to the bike's already impressive package.
The Yamaha R15 continues to be powered by the 155cc liquid-cooled engine, producing 18.1 bhp This motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox with quick shifter. The bike's sporty character is further enhanced by its Deltabox frame, upside-down front fork, and rear monoshock. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, and the bike rolls on 17-inch wheels.
Yamaha has maintained the R15's impressive feature set, which includes traction control, dual-channel ABS, and a slipper clutch—equipment often found on larger, more expensive motorcycles. The fully digital instrument cluster continues to provide riders with all necessary information at a glance. Weighing just 141 kg and carrying an 11-litre fuel tank, the Yamaha R15 strikes a balance between sporty performance and everyday practicality.
While pricing for the Indonesian market hasn't been announced, the R15 is positioned as a premium offering in the small-displacement category in India, where it costs between ₹1.83 and ₹1.98 lakh (ex-showroom). It continues to compete with bikes like the KTM RC 200, offering riders a feature-rich option in the small sportbike segment.
