In a significant development for Karnataka's semiconductor sector, Silectric Semiconductor Manufacturing Pvt Ltd, setup by Zoho Corporation, has pledged to a substantial investment in Mysuru's Kochanahalli electronics manufacturing cluster, says a report by ETTech.
The semicon company, under Zoho Corporation, and backed by co-founder Radha Vembu, will establish operations across a 40-acre expanse within the cluster. This facility will specialise in comprehensive silicon carbide production, including processes from ingot manufacturing to module packaging, including MOSFET production and ATMP operations.

The project, approved during the 64th State High-Level Clearance Committee meeting under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's chairmanship, represents a crucial advancement in the state's technology manufacturing capabilities.
“The first semiconductor project in the electronics manufacturing cluster at Kochanahalli, Mysuru, is a major milestone for the state” Siddaramaiah was quoted as saying.
The venture, supported by the Ministry of Electronics & IT and led by experienced semiconductor professionals, forms part of a larger industrial development initiative that saw nine projects receiving approval, collectively valued at Rs 9,823 crore.
Notably, this move aligns with Karnataka's upcoming Electronics System Design and Manufacturing policy.
