Lexus has brought its high-end MPV, the LM 350h, to India. This vehicle, similar to the Toyota Vellfire, costs Rs 2 crore for the version that seats seven people and Rs 2.5 crore for the version that seats four people. The model was officially launched in 2024.

The Lexus LM is easy to notice because of its big size, strong front grille, and stylish design parts like special headlamps, alloy wheels, and unique window frames. Inside the car is a 14-inch touchscreen that works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For the seats inside the car, you can choose between black or Solis White upholstery.

At the back part, the LM has a very big 48-inch screen and 23 speakers for the sound system. There are also heated armrests, foldable tables, reading lights, a place to keep an umbrella, vanity mirrors, and a small fridge. It includes a special IR matrix sensor that checks warmth and changes temperature for people sitting in the rear seats to ensure they feel comfortable in the cabin.

Safety features include the pre-collision system, lane departure alert, dynamic radar cruise control, and safe exit assist that stops doors from opening if something is in the way. The LM 350h has a four-cylinder 2.5-litre petrol hybrid engine making 190.42 bhp and 242 Nm of torque; it works with CVT transmission and all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup, too.

Exterior Design 

Designers looked at the LM's design in a new way. Rather than making its shape like the famous spindle grille, they started with the Unified Spindle. This is an important part of Lexus' Resolute Look, which was first seen in 2003. This design choice ensures the LM's shape stays stylish and complete, concentrating on a rear-seat-focused look emphasising comfort and performance.

The well-known Unified Spindle grille is placed under the thin triple-beam LED headlights, giving LM an up-to-date and smart appearance. The Function Crevasse, a narrow fold running over the headlights and below the slanting hood, helps lower airflow pressure and drag coefficient. The smooth grille guides and redirects air to make the engine work better and increase comfort for people inside.

A large L-Signature bar lamp and an extra horizontal light above it stretch from one D-pillar to the other. This design highlights the LM's wide and strong look. The long shape with a low beltline prioritises the back seats first, ensuring plenty of passenger space and good visibility.

Aligned with the LM's window glass, body shaping enhances aerodynamics and driving stability. Designed side panels with air-guiding fins at the lower body ensure a smooth, steady ride and lessen car tilting. A dimpled underbody cover helps to control air vortices for stability when driving fast. The smooth, Unified Spindle design improves aerodynamics, steering response, ride comfort, and passengers' feelings while travelling. Acoustic glass in the windshield, front quarter, front door, and sliding door helps reduce high-frequency wind noise.

Interior and Features

The Lexus LM's inside feels partly like a living room and partly an office space. It gives off a peaceful vibe, especially in the back part of the vehicle, where two different atmospheres come together in one fancy place. You can get it with four seats or seven seats. The four-seat version is good if you have a driver; it's more for business people who need to drive around comfortably. The seven-seat version works well for families or groups needing to move from place to place easily. Both configurations offer a minimalist design, expansive views, human-centred technologies, and exceptional comfort.

The inside of LM is made to provide a smooth and comfy ride with peaceful sounds. Good materials, colours, and textures mix together nicely for a friendly look with modern straight-up and sideways designs. Inspired by Omotenashi, decorative lighting offers 14 colours of indirect light to make the place more beautiful. Indirect lights are found in front seats on the pull handle, e-Latch lever, and footwell. In the back seats, they are on the ceiling, side trim, and footwell, too.

Measures to control noise and sound ensure a peaceful environment for chatting, watching movies, or concentrating on work. The partition has an interlayer film that helps block out sound, and the multi-layered headliner soaks up noise very well. Improved sealing around the partition enhances overall quietness.

Two separate roof windows over the back seats make the inside feel more open. It can be operated with buttons on the overhead panel or from a multi-functional control section in the rear. The idea called Tazuna influences how the front part of the cockpit is made, creating a better link between driver and car by using easy-to-use controls, info displays, and media setups. The steering wheel, accelerator pedal, brake pedal, and footrest are positioned to improve the driver's posture and reduce muscle strain.

The smooth change of shapes and stitching from the dashboard to the door gives a feeling of high quality and elegance. The front console box has big cupholders, storage spaces, and places to charge devices (two USB Type-C ports in the version with four seats, two USB Type-C ports, plus a Qi wireless charger in the version with seven seats). A 14-inch, full, high-definition EMV (Electro Multi Vision) wide display shows climate control, multimedia, and vehicle systems settings. Apple CarPlay connects easily when the engine starts up. Physical dials are used to adjust cabin temperature and audio volume levels.

A 48-inch, 3840 x 1080 resolution ultrawide screen allows watching in single or dual-screen modes. It can be tilted within 15 degrees for the best TV-watching experience. The screen also lets you see the road ahead through a rising glass panel that has the ability to dim as needed. The three-way independent audio output system lets front and rear passengers watch content separately or together. Android devices can play directly on the screen, but Apple devices need a wired HDMI connection or the use of an Apple TV to connect.

The LM meets all passengers' storage needs. It has spaces on the lower part for hand luggage, fold-away tables on the armrests of seats, and a place to keep personal things like tablets. Lexus LM Engine CC (Capacity) 

A 142 kW, 2487 cc, 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine combines a modern high-output and low-resistance nickel-metal hydride battery for excellent performance and good fuel saving. This combination makes the highest power of 190 bhp and torque of 242 Nm. The 216-cell battery is placed under the front centre console and seats, making it more comfortable for passengers. The E-Four system you can get with Lexus is a new all-wheel drive with motors at both the front (134 kW power) and rear (40 kW power) axles. This setup helps give quick driving force when the grip is low or during fast acceleration moments.

The new Lexus LM includes the Lexus Safety System+, which has improved detection ability with its millimetre-wave radar and single-lens camera.
