Mahindra Thar Variants

There are two main variants of the Mahindra Thar 2024: AX Option and LX. The top model is a Thar Earth Edition (Diesel Automatic). These variants come with choices of petrol or diesel engines, manual or automatic transmissions, and either a standard hard-top roof or a manually folding soft-top roof (convertible).

The base Thar AX Opt Hard Top, Diesel RWD variant, is the cheaper version of the Thar, which costs Rs.11.35 Lakh ex-showroom in Delhi. However, it misses out on features available in the fully loaded LX variant, such as steering-mounted controls, cruise control, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

The Thar does not have a traditional sunroof. However, it offers a Manual Convertible Top variant that allows you to enjoy open-air driving. There's also a hard-top variant available for those who prefer a closed roof.

The Mahindra Thar comes in a diverse palette of six eye-catching colours. These include the sleek Stealth Black, the nature-inspired Deep Forest with a black roof, the attention-grabbing Desert Fury with a black roof, the classic Everest White with a black roof, the bold Rage Red with a black roof, and the sophisticated Deep Grey. This range of colours suits various tastes, from those who prefer a more understated look to those who want their Thar to stand out on the road.

The Mahindra Thar is designed to seat 4 occupants comfortably. It has two front-facing seats in the front and a 50:50 split rear seat that can accommodate two passengers.

LX and AX are the two main variants of the Thar. LX is the fully loaded variant with more features, while AX (AX Option) is the base variant with fewer features at a lower price point.

AX O refers to Thar's AX Option variant. This is the base variant that offers essential features at a more affordable price than the fully loaded LX variant.

The Mahindra Thar's fuel efficiency varies depending on the engine type. In real-world driving conditions, the diesel variant of the Thar demonstrates relatively better fuel economy, achieving between 11 to 12.5 kilometres per litre (kmpl). On the other hand, the petrol version of the Thar is less fuel-efficient, delivering between 7 to 9 kilometres per litre.
