The following sections explain the various aspects of the Tata Nexon EV, including its exterior design, interior features, performance, and safety.
The Tata Nexon facelift features a similar exterior design as the ICE Nexon facelift, although with subtle differences. The front fascia of the Nexon EV facelift features sleek LED DRLs connected by an LED light bar, which results in cool animation when you lock/unlock or charge the electric SUV. It also has a different front bumper with prominent vertical elements.
The Tata Nexon EV's side profile remains unchanged, with a similar silhouette and lines. However, the facelift gets new alloy wheels, elevating the electric SUV's stance.
The facelift's rear profile gets updates similar to those of its ICE sibling. The rear fascia features new LED tail lights with an LED light bar running across the tailgate. The chunky spoiler hides the rear wiper. Tata Motors has ditched the blue accents on the exterior for the EV. Instead, it gets subtle EV badges.
Overall, the Tata Nexon EV facelift features a futuristic exterior design, which gives us a glimpse of the new design language of the upcoming Tata cars.
Unlike the exterior design, the Nexon EV facelift's interior has been completely overhauled. The interior features a premium design that excels in practicality. The horizontal lines on the dashboard and the new two-spoke steering backlit steering wheel give the cabin an upmarket look.
It also gets a larger floating touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital display for the instrument cluster with EV-specific graphics. The overall fit and finish and the quality of materials used inside the cabin have improved by miles, and it's a commendable job by Tata Motors.
The facelifted Nexon EV has many features, like an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, cruise control, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, wireless charging, and a 360-degree camera. Note that some of these features may be limited to top-spec variants.
Overall, the Tata Nexon EV facelift's interior design offers a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and cutting-edge technology, making it a compelling choice for eco-conscious car buyers in India.
The Tata Nexon EV draws power from a permanent magnet synchronous AC motor. This impressive electric motor uses a 46.08 kWh battery (45), a 40.5 kWh battery (long range), and a 30 kWh battery (medium range) with a liquid-cooled thermal management system. Its motor output is 147.51 bhp and 215 Nm of torque.
The Tata Nexon EV has a front-wheel (FWD) drivetrain with an automatic transmission. Specifically, it comes with an automatic gearbox without having a separate manual mode. This electric SUV does not have a traditional manual or automated manual transmission like other vehicles. By having an FWD electric motor power the front wheels through its automatic system, the electric SUV provides smooth, uninterrupted power delivery without manually shifting gears.
The electric motor offers brisk acceleration with instant torque. This allows this electric SUV to reach a speed of 100km/h from a standstill in just 8.9 seconds. What’s truly impressive is that this powerful powertrain offers a power of 110 kW and a torque of 215 Nm.
The Tata Nexon EV offers versatile charging options. A 7.2kW AC home wall box charger powers up from 10% to 100% in 6 hours 36 minutes, while a 15A portable charger takes 17 hours 36 minutes. For rapid on-road charging, a 60kW DC fast charger boosts SOC from 10% to 80% in just 40 minutes.
The Tata Nexon EV's City driving mode does an excellent job of delivering a comfortable driving experience in traffic. This EV will not disappoint you on highways either since you can make the most of the Eco mode and use regenerative braking for better range. The car drives well even with just 20% of throttle on straight highways.
By now, it should have been clear that the Tata Nexon EV has a performant electric powertrain. Apart from that, the unique design and dimensions of the EV go a long way in enhancing the car’s aerodynamics. If you find a proper road, it seems likely that you can reach a top speed of 150 km/h with this electric car.
According to ARAI tests, the Tata Nexon EV delivers an impressive range. The 45-type's Certified full charge range, as per MIDC Part 1 + Part 2 Cycle, is 489 km. The long-range type's Certified Full Charge Range (as per MIDC Part 1 + Part 2 Cycle) is 390 km, and that of the mid-range type is 275 km.

The Tata Nexon EV stands tall, with ample ground clearance of 190 mm. This headroom underneath the electric SUV allows it to tackle speed bumps, potholes, and moderate uneven terrain without scraping the underbody. The high ground clearance also gives the EV an advantage over lower-slung electric cars when driving over flooded roads.
Practicality meets style in the Tata Nexon EV, with its generous 350-litre boot capacity. The ample boot allows owners to load bags, small appliances, outdoor gear, and more for everyday use.
The Tata Nexon EV's compact exterior dimensions make it easy to handle and park in urban areas.
Overall length: 3,994mm
Overall width: 1,811mm
Overall height: 1,606mm
The Nexon EV has a wheelbase of 2,498mm between the axles. This electric SUV is also very manoeuvrable, with a minimum turning radius of just 5.3 metres. So, its short length and wheelbase allow the subcompact electric SUV to navigate through small spaces and pull quick U-turns when needed.
