This recall follows a similar action from Maruti Suzuki for its Grand Vitara SUV. Maruti Suzuki announced the recall of 39,506 Grand Vitara units
Toyota has announced a recall for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder in India due to a suspected fault with the fuel level indicator. The recall affects 11,529 units manufactured between December 2024 and April 2025. The affected models are those fitted with analogue instrument clusters. Owners of these vehicles will be contacted by authorised Toyota service centres to inspect and, if necessary, replace the faulty component at no extra cost.
This recall follows a similar action from Maruti Suzuki for its Grand Vitara SUV. Maruti Suzuki announced the recall of 39,506 Grand Vitara units produced during the same period, December 2024 to April 2025. The issue is also related to incorrect fuel level display and warning light in the analogue speedometer assembly. Owners of affected Grand Vitara vehicles will be contacted for inspection and replacement of the part, which will be done free of charge.

Both the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara share mechanical parts, including the affected instrument cluster component. The two SUVs are developed jointly by Toyota and Maruti Suzuki and are produced at the same plant. This shared platform means recalls with one model may also impact the other.
Owners of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Grand Vitara are advised to maintain adequate fuel in their vehicles until the inspection is completed. If the fuel gauge is not displaying accurately, there is a risk of running out of fuel without a suitable warning. Manufacturers have stated that it is safe to drive the vehicles, but the replacement should be carried out at the earliest opportunity.
Customers can check if their vehicle is included in the recall by entering the vehicle identification number on the respective brand websites or by contacting authorised service centres. Both companies have stated that the inspection and replacement of the faulty component will be free of cost to vehicle owners.
