2023

Pricing for the Tata Nexon.ev facelift is set to be disclosed on September 14, with bookings opening on September 9.

Tata Motors has unveiled the 2023 Nexon.ev, following the recent launch of the ICE versions of the 2023 Tata Nexon facelift. This refresh marks the first mid-life cycle update for the electric Nexon, which has been renamed the Nexon.ev. While both the ICE and EV variants share a similar design, the 2023 Nexon.ev receives significant mechanical enhancements to improve efficiency. Pricing for the Tata Nexon.ev facelift is set to be disclosed on September 14, with bookings opening on September 9, at an initial token amount of Rs. 21,000.

2023

Drawing inspiration from the Tata Curvv concept, the 2023 Tata Nexon.ev undergoes some design changes to set it apart from its ICE counterpart. Notable distinctions include a single-tone, body-coloured upper grille (in contrast to the black finish on ICE versions) and a unique slatted design for the lower grille and trapezoidal headlamp housings. The most distinctive feature is the full-width LED light band across the front, borrowed from the Tata Curvv concept and serving a functional purpose by indicating the charging status. The 2023 Nexon.ev also sports various '.ev' badges.

Like the standard 2023 Tata Nexon, the 2023 Tata Nexon.ev retains its split headlamp design, sequential LED daytime running lights, and trapezoidal housings for the main headlight cluster. The profile remains unchanged, while the rear features connected LED tail lamps and a bumper finished in the body colour, along with black and silver trims. Tata claims that the redesigned exterior is more aerodynamic, and the new LED lighting elements are more energy-efficient, contributing to improved range.

2023

Inside, the 2023 Tata Nexon.ev facelift closely resembles the regular Nexon but features a newly designed layered dashboard with various textures and materials. Notable interior highlights include a class-leading 12.3-inch touchscreen with a new user interface, a two-spoke illuminated steering wheel, a customizable 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and touch-based HVAC controls with toggle switches. The cabin exudes a high-tech feel with minimal physical controls. Top-spec Nexon EV facelift models offer a range of features, including a 360-degree camera, connected car technology, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, an air purifier, a JBL-branded sound system, and more.

The safety features include six airbags, front parking sensors, a blind view monitor, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), three-point seat belts for all seats, ISOFIX anchors, hill descent and ascent control, all-wheel disc brakes, panic brake alert, and emergency and breakdown call assist.

2023

The 2023 Tata Nexon.ev MR continues to use the 30 kWh battery, while the LR variant utilizes the larger 40.5 kWh battery. The MR version boasts an ARAI-claimed range of 325 km, while the LR variant offers a range of 465 km (MIDC), both representing a 12 km improvement over the previous models. Both versions now come standard with a 7.2 kW AC charger. Notably, the 2023 Nexon.ev now supports V2V (vehicle to vehicle) and V2L (vehicle to load) charging, allowing users to charge other electrical appliances or even another EV with the Nexon.ev.

At the heart, the 2023 Tata Nexon.ev features a new Gen-2 permanent magnet synchronous motor that is lighter and uses fewer rare earth materials while offering improved cooling and efficiency. Tata claims that improved aerodynamics have increased the range by 2 per cent. The Nexon.ev can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.9 seconds, achieve a top speed of 150 kmph, and offer improved NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) levels.

The vehicle features four-level brake regeneration, which has been improved by 10–15 per cent and can be controlled using paddle shifters. The MR variant produces 125 bhp and 215 Nm of torque, while the LR variant delivers 141 bhp and 215 Nm. Notably, power and torque have decreased slightly on the MR variant. Both MR and LR variants are available in three core trims: Creative, Fearless, and Empowered, each with its own customizable elements.

In its segment, the 2023 Tata Nexon.ev facelift faces competition primarily from the Mahindra XUV400. Given the extensive technology and equipment upgrades, the 2023 Nexon.ev is expected to come at a premium over the previous model, which was priced between Rs. 14.49 and Rs. 19.54 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
