Finally, there is going to be a 400 cc Pulsar!
The much-anticipated Bajaj Pulsar NS400 is finally nearing its launch. Motorcycle enthusiasts are eagerly waiting to see what the new flagship offering from Bajaj Auto has in store. While official details are still under wraps, here are 5 things we expect to see on the Pulsar NS400.
The Pulsar NS400 is expected to take styling inspiration from the recently updated Pulsar NS200. This could mean a new, aggressive front fascia featuring a full-LED headlight and signature Z-shaped LED DRLs. The muscular stance of the NS200 is also likely to be carried over, but in a larger form factor.
The power plant for the Pulsar NS400 is rumoured to be the same 373.3cc single-cylinder engine that does duty on the Dominar 400 and the previous generation KTM 390 Duke. However, it remains to be seen whether the engine will be tuned for higher performance like the KTMs or retain the more conservative tuning of the Dominar.
The Pulsar NS400 might borrow the instrument cluster from the new Pulsar NS200, offering features like Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. This would be a welcome upgrade for riders who value a more connected and informative riding experience.
The Pulsar NS400 is expected to come equipped with a USD fork, similar to the Dominar 400. The more sophisticated suspension component promises a sportier riding experience with a firmer front-end setup. This should lead to better front-end feedback and control without compromising too much on ride quality.
Given the 400cc segment it competes in, the Pulsar NS400 could potentially be equipped with ride modes or at least traction control. If it is running the more potent KTM tune, then these aids are definitely welcome as the outgoing 373 cc mill was getting a bit randy to handle. It might not be an IMU-aided electronics suite but having one would benefit riders from using the whole potential of the bike in a controlled manner.
These are just some of the things we expect to see on the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar NS400. With its combination of familiar design cues, a powerful engine, and strong foundations, the Pulsar NS400 is expected to be the much-needed flagship Pulsar that Pulsarmaniacs had been waiting for ages.
