We expect Mercedes-Benz India to soon bring this speed monster to our shores.
Luxury car enthusiasts have something new to be excited about as Mercedes-AMG unveils its second-generation GT Coupe, called the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ Coupé, positioning itself as the flagship model within the brand. Balancing high-performance capabilities with enhanced everyday usability, the new GT Coupe aims to cater to a wider range of driving preferences. At the core of this sleek and dynamic coupe is a range of cutting-edge technologies designed to elevate driving experiences. We expect Mercedes-Benz India to soon bring this speed monster to our shores.
The AMG GT Coupe's design is a fusion of power and elegance, featuring a distinctive long wheelbase, short overhangs, and a sharply raked windshield. The combination of a 2+2 seating arrangement and a spacious luggage compartment caters to both sporty driving and practical daily use. The exterior features a compact yet potent presence, with balanced proportions, pronounced wheel arches, and an assertive front profile marked by a deep AMG-specific radiator grille. The digital innovation continues with the standard Digital Light headlights, featuring a signature light signet, while the active rear spoiler integrates seamlessly into the rear tailgate.
Inside, the fusion of luxury and performance is evident. The driver-centric cockpit boasts an 11.9-inch multimedia touchscreen, seamlessly integrating the MBUX infotainment system. The intuitive interface allows for customization and provides access to various AMG-specific functions, including performance data and vehicle conditions. The optional head-up display further enhances the driving experience.
Passenger comfort is not compromised, thanks to the optional 2+2 seat configuration, which offers ample space for rear passengers and a large Easy Pack tailgate for convenient loading and unloading. The selection of materials and attention to detail, exemplify the luxury within, with options ranging from Nappa leather to MANUFAKTUR Nappa leather upholstery.
The AMG GT Coupe embraces aerodynamic prowess with active air control systems like AirPanel and a retractable rear spoiler that adjusts based on driving conditions. The deployment of an underbody carbon profile contributes to enhanced handling and stability, particularly during high-speed manoeuvres.
Powering the GT Coupe are two variants of the handcrafted AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine. The GT 63 4MATIC+ boasts 585 bhp and 800 Nm of torque, achieving a 0-100 kmph acceleration in a mere 3.2 seconds. On the other hand, the GT 55 4MATIC+ churns out 476 hp and 700 Nm, reaching 0-100 kmph in 3.9 seconds. All this power is handled by a 9-speed AMG Speedshift MCT transmission.
The fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system is standard, ensuring optimal power distribution. The multi-link front axle and five-link rear axle, coupled with active rear-axle steering, promote agile and stable driving characteristics across different speed ranges.
Incorporating the latest advancements in both design and technology, the second-generation Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe presents a compelling package for those seeking high-performance luxury vehicles that cater to both spirited driving and everyday practicality. With its innovative features and bold design, the GT Coupe solidifies Mercedes-AMG's reputation for pushing the boundaries of automotive excellence.
