Honda CB500 Launched At ₹2.75 lakh, Deliveries To Commence By Late 2026

Honda has silently launched the all-new CB500 in India, expanding its modern-classic motorcycle lineup with a larger and more powerful retro roadster. The Honda CB500 is offered in three variants - Alloy wheel, tubeless spoke wheels and tubeless spoke wheels with stripes. The base Honda CB500 is priced at ₹2.75 lakh, the mid-spec variant retails for ₹3 lakh and the top-spec variant will set you back by ₹3.02 lakh (all prices mentioned are ex-showroom). 

Powering the new Honda CB500 is a 501cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The motor produces 28 bhp and 43 Nm of peak torque, while featuring a 5-speed gearbox with slipper cutch. With its large-capacity single-cylinder configuration, the CB500 appears to focus more on accessible torque and relaxed road performance rather than outright power. 

The new Honda CB500 follows a classic roadster design with modern touches. Up front, it gets a round LED headlight, while the teardrop-shaped fuel tank, long single-piece seat and upright proportions reinforce its retro character. Honda has also used an aluminium finish on the engine casing, giving the CB500 a more premium look. Chrome finish can be seen on the chunky exhaust muffler, further enhancing its old-school roadster appeal.

Keeping with its retro theme, the Honda CB500 gets a minimalist analogue instrument console. A small digital display is integrated into the cluster and provides information such as the gear position indicator, odometer and trip meter. Despite its classic styling, the motorcycle comes equipped with modern safety and rider-assistance features. These include dual-channel ABS and a switchable traction control system.

Most of the specifications haven't been revealed yet, including the seat height and weight. What we know is that the bike rides on a 19/17-inch wheel setup and also gets tubeless spoke wheels, something that Royal Enfield needs to take note of as customers have been waiting for them on the Classic 350, Bullet 350 and the Meteor 350. Deliveries for the Honda CB500 is expected to commence by end of the year and it doesn’t have any direct rivals as it sits in between a sweet spot of the Royal Enfield 350 cc single-cylinder and 650 cc twin-cylinder bikes.
