The updated supersport is likely to bear a more powerful motor, revised graphics and winglets
Just a few days after the sighting of a test mule, TVS seems to be readying an update for its Apache RR 310 supersport. We have received a launch invite of a new TVS product for September 16, which shows the lap time that the Asia Road Racing Championship-spec RR 310 set around the Buriram International Circuit, Thailand.
We do not expect TVS to change much on the upcoming RR 310. For starters, the 312.2 cc mill is highly likely to receive the more powerful state of tune that the Apache RTR 310 naked bears. Hence, improved engine output of 35.11 bhp and 28.7 Nm or perhaps even more can be expected. And while TVS did give the naked RTR a larger rear sprocket for better low-end pull, we think the final drive for the RR 310 is not likely to be tinkered with.
Besides the power bump up, new fancy electronic features are also likely to make their way here. We hope that the quickshifter and cruise control features are standard on the RR 310, which should make the overall riding experience of the bike more appealing for a wider range of audiences. Revised electronic rider aids could also make their way here but we hope there are no gimmicky features like cooled seats on the RR 310.
The Apache RR 310 was always a handsome motorcycle. So, no styling tweaks would not be too much of a bother. We guess there would be new colour schemes on offer, though. The test mule was seen sporting winglets. How much of a positive aerodynamic effect will they have on the handling of the bike remains to be seen.
We expect TVS to continue to offer the BTO package on the RR 310 with bits like adjustable suspension and race-inspired clip-ons and rear set footpegs making the bike all the more sporty to use. Currently, the RR 310 retails at ₹ 2.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the standard trim and the full-loaded BTO option takes the asking price close to the ₹ 3 lakh mark. We expect TVS to bump up the price by around ₹5000-7000 for the features. We should be riding the updated bike soon thereafter, so stick around more details.
