Royal Enfield won for its whimsical ad contrasting ideas of privilege and authenticity.
Royal Enfield has won the 2025 Best Creative Film (Bike) TOTM for its imaginative Classic 350 campaign, while Jawa 350 – Heritage Mounted on Two Wheels has taken the runner-up spot at the 2025 Acko Drive Awards. Both companies received their TOTMs at the 2025 Acko Drive Awards, held in Pune on January 31 and February 1.
The Royal Enfield ad contrasts ideas of privilege and authenticity, to illustrate how individuality can be carved out of tradition. Taking viewers through a series of scenes set across a lush, fantasy-inspired English estate complete with tea parties, hunting dogs, garden games and gilded furniture. The Indian soundtrack and the characters, with their Royal Enfield bikes in improbable situations make for a whimsical and memorable film.
Jawa takes a different approach to associating its brand with its audience, with a play on sounding out the word “Jawa” which is similar to a common word in some north Indian languages and dialects. The setting is a desert, reminiscent of Gujarat or Rajasthan, and creative shots and editing put a modern take on some traditional imagery.
Runners-up for the Best Creative Film (Bike) TOTM were Bajaj Chetak - Ganesh Visarjan, showing this scooter’s ability to operate when submerged in water; Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z – Hindi Launch Film which taps into the Indian youth’s revolutionary spirit; and Hero Super Splendor XTEC – Thaat 69/kmpl ke which humorously delivered a message about better mileage.
The Acko Drive Awards are unique in the Indian automobile industry for recognising advertising, marketing and PR activities and the people who push the boundaries when coming up with new ways to reach their audiences. The Best Creative Film categories required OEMs to submit a video created or released in the previous year. Only advertising and publicity campaigns were considered, not marketing communications or corporate films. Over 30 entries were evaluated by our dedicated communications jury, comprised of experts from the media industry including Ashish Chakravarty, Executive Director and India Head of Creative - McCann Worldgroup; Rohit Ohri, former Group CEO and Chairman, FCB Group India; Anita Sharma, automotive marketing and PR veteran; Ashish Mishra, Chief Marketing Officer - ACKO; Nikhil Chawla, auto and tech creator; Siddharth Vinayak Patankar, Editor-in-Chief - ACKO Drive; Suparna Singh, CEO and Co-Founder, Frammer AI; and Yogendra Pratap, Editor-in-Chief - Auto Today.
