The e Access will be the first EV offering from the Japanese brand for the Indian market
Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited is expected to showcase its first electric two-wheeler product at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 which will commence from tomorrow in Delhi. The Japanese brand had showcased the e-Burgman electric scooter in 2023 and even the Burgman electric scooter was spied testing on Indian roads However, the e-Burgman wouldn’t be its debut EV offering for India as Suzuki will be launching the e Access tomorrow. The above was mentioned by Toshihiro Suzuki, Representative Director and President, Suzuki Motor Corporation.
The upcoming electric scooter has been specifically for the Indian market. The major difference between the e-Burgman and the e Access is the battery pack, the India-spec product might feature a fixed battery pack whereas the e-Burgman sports removable batteries. Most of the electric scooters sold in our country feature a fixed battery pack and the known exceptions are the Vida V1 and the Honda Active e:. While removable batteries have their advantages, it also kills the convenience aspect of a scooter by eating into the underseat storage space.
It’s reported that production of the Suzuki Access electric scooter has already commenced and the world debut of the same will happen tomorrow. While details about the e Access are almost non-existent, we can specualte the styling to be based on the Suzuki Access 125 and could follow the same template which we saw with the Honda Activa e:. In terms of range we expect it to deliver between 80-100 km in the real world and a top speed of around 80 kmph. We will get more details of the Suzuki electric scooter at the Auto Expo 2025.
