Just like its elder 390 siblings, the KTM 250 Adventure also boasts a similar tall body design and shares its powertrain with 250 Duke.
KTM has strengthened its adventure bike portfolio with the launch of the new 250 Adventure in India, alongside the new 390 Adventure series. The updated quarter-litre adventure tourer arrives with significant improvements and modern features, which has made it slightly more expensive. So, at ₹2.60 lakh, the new KTM 250 Adventure is ₹10,000 pricier than before.
The new 250 Adventure is powered by the same 249.7cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine from the 250 Duke. In the adventure bike, this mill produces 30.57 bhp and 25 Nm, along with that KTM has also implemented specific gearing changes to better suit adventure riding characteristics. The motorcycle shares its frame architecture with the larger 390 Adventure though, wherein the updates have made the chassis stiffer and lighter. However, with a kerb weight of 177 kg and a seat height of 825 mm, the new 250 Adventure should be less daunting than its 390 siblings.
The frame suspends on a non-adjustable 43mm WP Apex USD fork at the front, while the rear gets a 10-step preload-adjustable mono-shock. It rides on a 19-/17-inch front-rear wheel combination shod with Apollo Trampler tyres. In terms of electronic aids, the motorcycle features ABS and an Off-road ABS mode as standard, with no provision for different ride modes.
The new KTM 250 Adventure gets the same 5-inch TFT dash display as the 390 Adventure, but there’s no smartphone connectivity available here. You do get a Type C USB socket on board, though. Aside from that, full LED lighting throughout is a standard fitment.
KTM dealerships have started accepting bookings for the 250 Adventure, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin shortly. This launch positions KTM to cater to riders seeking a more accessible entry point into the adventure motorcycling segment while maintaining core ADV capabilities.
