The second generation of the KTM 390 Adventure will carry forward the new 399 cc engine that currently powers the KTM 390 Duke.
As KTM inches closer to the global launch of the second generation of the 390 Adventure, the frequency of camouflaged production-spec models being tested on Indian roads has also increased.
As can be seen from the images, KTM has committed to a very Dakar-esque rally bike design with the upcoming 390 Adventure. Whether it’s in the form of a taller windshield, a flatter seat design or the high-mounted TFT instrument cluster – all contribute to a very rugged and practical appearance. Even the swingarm design is different from the current-gen 390 Adventure’s and that has been probably done to aid for more suspension travel.
Speaking of which, we expect the KTM 390 Adventure to be available with USD fork and monoshock suspension, as is the case now. However, expect adjustability to be present at both ends as standard, just like the current-gen 390 Duke. All of which in turn should further enhance its capability to take on the beaten path any day.
Mechanically, it’s confirmed that the second-gen 390 Adventure will be powered by the same 399 cc, LC4c engine that KTM debuted with the 2024 KTM 390 Duke. This mill produces 45.3 bhp and 39 Nm in the naked bike. KTM might carry forward the same tune, albeit with some changes to the final drive ratio to give the ADV its character.
The model spotted here is the KTM 390 Adventure standard model, and KTM is also working on an Enduro variant which will be more hardcore in comparison with more purposeful tyres and much more. Check out this story for more details.
