This is not for the faint-hearted folks.
KTM is going to make a big splash at the 2024 EICMA motorcycle show with a variety of models. The Austrian bike maker’s return to the Milan show floors will be one that Indian enthusiasts will be looking at keenly as the next-gen 390 Adventure family is going to be shown in its full glory. And after bringing you new details regarding the 390 Adventure X and the 390 Adventure R, we shall take a look at the most hardcore variant of them all: the 390 Enduro R.
Turned up to the max, the Enduro R will justify its name with a proper rally-ready setup. The 390 Adventure R’s touring-friendly body panels will make way for something that is more competition ready. This variant might not even have a lot of fancy tech on board like the TFT screen or smartphone connectivity.
What it is meant to offer is a more dedicated setup for off-road lovers. Hence, proper knobby tyres, seriously long travel suspension that is adjustable, and a flat enduro-ready seat that flows from the tank to the tail in a straight line. And if the documents are to be believed, the seat height here could be even more than the upcoming 390 Adventure R’s 885 mm. So, a 900 mm plus saddle is going to take some serious courage and skills to conquer.
Besides these changes, the rest of the motorcycle will have the same foundation as the 390 Adventure R. So, same 399 cc engine, same performance capabilities, same fuel tank, chassis, and swingarm.
We should have all of the details of the new 390 Adventures in a little over a week’s time. The 390 Adventures will be one of the star attractions for us Indian enthusiasts with Royal Enfield’s electric bike and a few new 650s, Hero’s larger XPulse 210 and Aprilia’s Tuono 457 being the other showstoppers. Since the KTM 390 Enduro R was spotted undergoing testing on Indian roads, it’s confirmed that the bike will be built in India by Bajaj Auto. What remains to be seen is whether or not it actually goes on sale in our market as Enduro bikes are an alien concept for Indian bikers.
