Toyota India has officially announced that the ninth-generation Toyota Camry, globally known as the Camry XV80, will launch in India on December 11, 2024. The Camry, a staple of the premium sedan category, has been a niche yet enduring choice for Indian buyers ever since its debut.
The new Camry will continue to be assembled in India from Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits, following the practice of the outgoing model. Based on Toyota's TNGA-K platform, the 2025 Camry retains its strong hybrid powertrain, which pairs a 2.5-litre petrol engine with two electric motors. This setup delivers a combined output of 222 bhp, an increase of 9 bhp over the previous generation.
The 2025 Camry adopts an evolutionary design with key exterior updates including redesigned LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights, a sleeker grille, and a reshaped front bumper with wider air intakes. The side profile includes a streamlined roofline, sculpted body, and 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels in black and smoke grey finishes. At the rear, the new Camry sports wraparound LED taillights, a rear lip spoiler, a new clamshell hood, and a redesigned diffuser with dual-tip exhausts. Toyota will most likely introduce two new colour options—Ocean Gem and Heavy Metal—alongside two-tone paint schemes with a black roof for top trims.
The 2025 Camry promises a comprehensive suite of modern features including Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, USB-A and USB-C ports, wireless charging, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, WiFi with 4G support, connected car technology, and over-the-air updates.
The new Camry is also expected to receive Heated and ventilated seats, premium materials, and improved rear-seat ergonomics. Toyota has also equipped the new Camry with the Safety Sense 3.0 package, which includes ADAS features such as Adaptive cruise control, lane departure assist, road sign assist, pedestrian detection, and automatic high beams along with a 360-degree parking camera, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
