Surprisingly enough, this new variant slots below the SmartXonnect variant.
TVS has updated the Jupiter 125 range by adding a new variant called DT SXC (likely to be short for dual tone SmartXonnect). It slots below the top-spec SmartXonnect variant and is priced at ₹88,942 (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it around ₹3000 more affordable in the process.
With this new variant the brand has also debuted two new dual-tone colour options called Ivory Brown and Ivory Grey. While the overall design of the new Jupiter 125 is the same as the rest of the range, the addition of this new dual-tone aesthetic gives the scooter a more premium and upmarket appeal.
TVS has also added a few premium details, for example, it gets beige coloured seats, and the interior panels are finished in light brown. There’s a pillion backrest as well wherein the cushion is finished in the same beige texture, while chrome inserts around the headlight cowl, front apron design, and rear apron further help elevate its premium status.
Besides this aesthetic treatment, the rest of the scooter is the same as the other. It continues to be powered by the 124.8 cc, air-cooled, engine producing 8.7 bhp and 11.1 Nm. TVS has updated the Jupiter 125 earlier this year by equipping its iGo Assist (start-stop function) and the same features here as well. On the feature front, the new TVS Jupiter 125 DT SXC gets the fully digital instrument console from the SmartXonnect variant. This unit gets you all the connectivity features from turn-by-turn navigation to call/SMS alert, voice assist, and much more.
The Jupiter brand has served TVS well, making it a strong contender in the scooter space. The popularity of the new Jupiter 110 has been evident and this new more affordable variant of the Jupiter 125 is bound to increase its presence. It does come with a really mature colour palette that might feel overdone to a certain extent, though.
