2026 Bajaj Avenger Street 220 To Go On Sale Soon

The Bajaj Avenger like the Pulsar has been one of the most iconic motorcycles to ever go on sale in India and the Avenger Street is set for a comeback. The motorcycle has now appeared on the company’s official website. While the exact launch date hasn’t been confirmed, the bike is expected to arrive later this month.In terms of pricing, the Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 currently retails at ₹1.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The upcoming Avenger Street 220 is likely to be priced around ₹2,000-4,000 lower, making it a more affordable option in the Avenger lineup. 

Notably, Bajaj appears to have discontinued the Avenger Street 160, as it is no longer listed on the official website. At present, only the Avenger Cruise 220 and the soon-to-launch Street 220 remain in the lineup. The Bajaj Avenger Street 160 was among the most affordable cruiser bikes on sale in the country and the discontinuation could be down to poor sales as customers prefer a punchy engine with a cruiser motorcycle.

Powering the Bajaj Avenger Street 220 will be the same 220 cc, air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine found in the Cruise 220. This engine is rated at 19 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 17.6 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The 220 cc engine is legendary for offering decent performance with a mix of good fuel efficiency. .

Design-wise, the Street 220 features revised ergonomics compared to the Cruise variant, including a lower handlebar for a more relaxed riding posture to go well with the Street moniker. Other changes include blacked-out treatment on many components and the bike rides on alloy wheels instead of spoke wheels. The Bajaj Avenger Street 220 will be offered in two colour options: Ebony Black and Cocktail Wine Red. There’s no direct rival for the Bajaj motorcycle given its genre and pricing.
