2026 Ducati Monster India Launch On August 10

The Monster is one of Ducati's most significant motorcycles. Introduced in 1993, it played a pivotal role in reviving the Italian manufacturer during a financially challenging period and has since become one of the brand's best-selling and most recognisable motorcycles. The Ducati Monster is also very popular in our market, and the 2026 iteration will be launched on August 10 in India. The new Ducati Monster is expected to be priced around ₹14 lakh (ex-showroom).

One of the biggest talking points about the previous-generation Monster was the removal of the iconic steel trellis frame, and the toned-down, athletic design cues. With the new model, Ducati appears to have listened to customer feedback by giving the Monster a more muscular and unmistakable identity. The redesigned fuel tank is larger and features the signature sculpted contours associated with previous Monsters. Up front, the LED headlamp gets a new daytime running light (DRL) signature that lends the motorcycle a sharper and more premium appearance. The rear section has also been revised with a sleeker tail, while twin rounded exhaust silencers complement the bike's clean styling.

The biggest mechanical change comes  below the tank. The 2026 Ducati Monster replaces the outgoing 937 cc Testastretta L-twin with Ducati's new 890 cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine. The new motor produces 109.4 bhp and 91 Nm of peak torque. While these figures are slightly lower than those of the outgoing bike, Ducati claims the new powerplant offers more refinement, reduced weight, and stronger everyday usability. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox paired with a standard bi-directional quickshifter. Another notable advantage of the new engine is the absence of Ducati's traditional desmodromic valve system. As a result, valve clearance inspection intervals have been extended to an impressive 45,000 km, significantly reducing long-term maintenance costs.

The 2026 Monster also benefits from a newly developed aluminium frame that mounts directly to the cylinder head, contributing to increased rigidity while reducing overall mass. Ducati has also introduced a double-sided swingarm inspired by the latest Panigale V4, replacing the previous design. Combined with the lighter engine and revised chassis components, the new Monster is 4 kg lighter than its predecessor, tipping the scales at a claimed dry weight of just 175 kg. The reduced weight is expected to translate into sharper handling, improved agility and a more engaging riding experience.
