The new sliding second-row seats will be available on the Limited and Overland variants of the Jeep Meridian and bring up to 140 mm of additional legroom to the second row.
Jeep India has resolved one of the biggest shortcomings on the Meridian SUV with the introduction of new sliding second-row seats. The 2026 Jeep Meridian now gets the usable feature on select variants - Limited and Overland - priced from ₹30 lakh onwards. The range continues to start from ₹23.33 lakh (ex-showroom) with overall prices remaining unchanged. The Meridian is a seven-seater offering and latest update makes the second and third rows more usable.
The new sliding second row liberates longitudinal space of up to 140/130 mm with the 40:60 split seat. The flexibility allows users in the second or third row to increase more legroom or even the cargo space, depending on the requirement. As a result, the second row now offers 23-degree torso angle and an additional 12-degree recline for enhanced comfort. The new seating configuration allows sliding travel of 310 mm (40% seat), and 290 mm (60% seat). It can also be tilted forward by 33 degrees for comfortable ingress and egress.

The sliding second row was missing on the Meridian at the time of launch, but now makes the SUV more comfortable for occupants, especially the chauffeur-driven ones. Jeep says the addition is a result of customer feedback.
Speaking about the updated feature, Kumar Priyesh, Business Head and Director – Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, said, “The Meridian continues to evolve in line with our commitment to deliver a more meaningful ownership experience for our customers. The introduction of sliding second-row seats on the Limited & Overland variant is a direct response to customer feedback seeking greater third-row comfort, especially for families travelling together. This update complements the Meridian’s premium positioning and reinforces our focus on delivering thoughtful, customer-inspired enhancements.”

Apart from the new second row, the 2026 Jeep Meridian carries over the same design and styling. This includes the signature seven-slot grille, LED headlamps, and a boxy silhouette. The cabin continues to use soft-touch materials, premium upholstery, and incorporates a large 10.25-inch digital instrument console, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. On the feature front, the Meridian comes with a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, 12-way electrically adjustable front seats with ventilation, and more. The Meridian is equipped with over 30 connected car features, including remote vehicle function and real-time vehicle health updates. With respect to safety, the 2026 Meridian gets six airbags, ESP, ADAS, and over 70 active and passive safety systems.
Powering the 2026 Jeep Meridian is the same 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine tuned for 168 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque with Select-Terrain 4x4 system. The automaker claims a fuel efficiency of 16.25 kmpl (ARAI certified) on the three-row SUV. The new Meridian competes against the Skoda Kodiaq, and will take on the upcoming Volkswagen Tayron R-Line and MG Majestor in the same space.
