This strengthens the value proposition of the Kawasaki KLX 230, especially in its competition with the Hero XPulse 210.
Kawasaki has refreshed the KLX230 for 2026 by equipping the bike with ABS. It has also aggressively slashed its asking price from ₹3.33 lakh to now price it at ₹1.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is a massive drop of ₹1.33 lakh, which has further strengthened its position against its direct competitor, the Hero Xpulse 210, which retails from ₹1.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) onwards. This price slash was possible since Kawasaki is locally manufacturing the KLX230. Additionally, Kawasaki has also introduced two new shades to the bike - Lime Green and Battle Grey.

The KLX230 features a compact profile and robust styling designed for challenging terrain. The design follows the established KLX series aesthetic with its distinctive hexagonal headlamp encased in a plastic housing. This is paired with a narrow petrol tank holding 7.6 litres and a streamlined single-seat configuration. Built around a high-tensile steel perimeter chassis, the Kawasaki KLX230 employs 37 mm telescopic front suspension and an updated preload-adjustable mono shock system at the rear. Stopping power comes from a 265 mm single disc brake with twin-piston callipers up front, while the rear features a 220 mm disc with single-piston caliper.

The Kawasaki KLX230 draws power from a 233 cc air-cooled single-cylinder motor that generates 18.1 bhp at 8,000 rpm and delivers 18.3 Nm at 6,400 rpm. A 6-speed transmission handles power delivery to the rear wheel. The combination of this output and the bike's relatively modest kerb weight of 139 kg enhances its off-road performance credentials.
