Kawasaki has refreshed the KLX230 for 2026 by equipping the bike with ABS. It has also aggressively slashed its asking price from ₹3.33 lakh to now price it at ₹1.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is a massive drop of ₹1.33 lakh, which has further strengthened its position against its direct competitor, the Hero Xpulse 210, which retails from ₹1.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) onwards. This price slash was possible since Kawasaki is locally manufacturing the KLX230. Additionally, Kawasaki has also introduced two new shades to the bike - Lime Green and Battle Grey.

The KLX230 features a compact profile and robust styling designed for challenging terrain. The design follows the established KLX series aesthetic with its distinctive hexagonal headlamp encased in a plastic housing. This is paired with a narrow petrol tank holding 7.6 litres and a streamlined single-seat configuration. Built around a high-tensile steel perimeter chassis, the Kawasaki KLX230 employs 37 mm telescopic front suspension and an updated preload-adjustable mono shock system at the rear. Stopping power comes from a 265 mm single disc brake with twin-piston callipers up front, while the rear features a 220 mm disc with single-piston caliper.

The Kawasaki KLX230 draws power from a 233 cc air-cooled single-cylinder motor that generates 18.1 bhp at 8,000 rpm and delivers 18.3 Nm at 6,400 rpm. A 6-speed transmission handles power delivery to the rear wheel. The combination of this output and the bike's relatively modest kerb weight of 139 kg enhances its off-road performance credentials.
