The Kia Sonet diesel automatic is now available on the HTE(O), HTK(O), HTK+, and HTK+(O) variants. Meanwhile, the Sonet turbo-petrol 7DCT has been added to the HTK(O) and HTK+(O) variants.
Kia India has launched the 2026 Sonet, bringing new automatic variants on the more affordable trims of the subcompact SUV. The 2026 Kia Sonet gets the automatic transmission option on the lower trims with prices starting at ₹9.78 lakh for the diesel automatic and ₹9.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for turbo petrol DCT. The new options aim to make the model more appealing to buyers. There is also a new Magma Red paint scheme for a refreshed look while retaining the same styling.
Kia says it has introduced new automatic variants on the 2026 Sonet as “traffic density continues to rise across cities.” The Sonet 1.5-litre diesel comes with a 6-speed torque converter, which is now available on the HTE(O), HTK(O), HTK+, and HTK+(O) variants. Meanwhile, the Sonet 1.0-litre turbo-petrol 7DCT has been added to the HTK(O) and HTK+(O) variants.
Speaking about the introduction of new trims, Atul Sood, Senior Vice-President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said, “We have been closely listening to evolving customer needs, particularly the growing preference for the convenience of automatic driving in everyday conditions. With the model year 2026 update, we are expanding our automatic line-up with Diesel Automatic and Turbo Petrol 7DCT options at highly competitive price points, enabling more customers to experience the ease of automatic mobility while further strengthening Sonet’s leadership in the segment.”
