Bezzecchi has become the third rider of the modern era to manage 5 wins in a row after Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez.
Aprilia Racing continued to dominate the 2026 MotoGP with the third consecutive win for Marco Bezzecchi at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) last weekend. The Italian rider not only notched up his third consecutive win this season but his fifth straight win overall, bagging the last two races of the previous season.
The second spot was taken by Bezzecchi’s team mate Jorge Martin making it the second consecutive 1-2 finish for Aprilia this season. Martin trailed Bezzecchi by 2.036 seconds before crossing the finishing line. Pedro Acosta took third place for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing.
Sunday’s win at COTA also marks Bezzecchi’s sixth premier-class win with Aprilia Racing, and it comes with a few notable milestones. He became the first rider since 2014 to win the opening three Grands Prix of a season. The Italian has also set a new benchmark in the modern MotoGP era by taking five consecutive GP victories, leading every single one from start to finish.

With this win, Bezzecchi became the third rider of the modern era to manage this feat after Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez. In fact, he has spent the entirety of the last five races out in front. With this result, his tally now stands at 121 laps led, moving past the previous record of 103 set by Jorge Lorenzo. As for Martin, the Spaniard secured his second straight podium in a full-length race with Aprilia Racing. It also caps off a strong weekend for him, having already taken a win in the sprint race on Saturday.

The latest result marks Aprilia Racing’s eleventh win in the premier class and their second time on top of the box in Austin since Maverick Viñales took the checkers there back in 2024. That makes five wins in a row now for the Noale-based manufacturer. The team also managed to secure its third-ever one-two finish at this level. With this latest conquest, Aprilia’s total win count across all World Grand Prix classes hits an incredible 305.

In the current standings for the 2026 MotoGP, Bezzecchi maintains his lead with 81 points heading into the Spanish GP, but with only four points separating him from his teammate Martin. Acosta remains within striking distance in third with 60 points. The bigger story, however, is the changing of the guard.
Aprilia is currently dominating both the Riders’ and Constructors’ championships. This represents a massive power shift compared to the early-season Ducati dominance we saw last year. As the tour moves to Circuito de Jerez in a few weeks, Bezzecchi will be the man with the target on his back.
