Tata Motors will slot the new-gen Sierra between the Curvv and Harrier in its lineup.
Tata Motors is all geared up to launch the 2026 Sierra tomorrow. The original Sierra was launched in 1991 and remained in production until 1998. The reincarnated Sierra has been in the making for a very long time and only broke cover in its full glory earlier this month. The new-gen Sierra will be a more modern adaptation of its namesake from the 1990s offering.
Here are five new features set to debut on a Tata Motors model with the upcoming Sierra.
The Sierra will be the first Tata model to get a triple screen setup on the dashboard comprising a central touchscreen infotainment display, a digital driver’s instrument cluster, and a front passenger display. The screens are expected to offer connected car features and built-in apps, along with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.

Tata Motors has introduced segment-first adjustable under-thigh support for the front seats. Although the mechanism is manually operated, it remains a value addition, particularly for taller occupants. Additionally, the sun visors are extendable to improve overall utility. Downward extension helps block glare through the front windshield, while outward extension offers better coverage for the side windows, once the shade is released from its default position.
The Sierra will be the first Tata model to offer a 12-speaker JBL Audio System, and also the first ICE model from Tata Motors to feature Dolby Atmos for an immersive audio experience. This setup also integrates a dashboard-mounted SonicShaft soundbar placed below the centre AC vents.
The new Tata Sierra features auxiliary taillights that activate when the boot lid is open, for safety and convenience at night. This is a particularly unique addition in the mass-market segment, and marks a first for Tata Motors.

The biggest changes, however, lie under its hood. Tata Motors has decided to use a brand new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine which reportedly pushes out 168 cc bhp and 280 Nm of peak torque. Additionally, there will also be a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol option, which is likely to produce around 120 bhp and 140 Nm. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque converter automatic, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine will be carried over from the Harrier and Safari.
