ACKO Drive Awards 2026: Yamaha FZS Hybrid Bags The 2026 Commuter Motorcycle TOTM

The recently concluded Acko Drive Awards 2026 saw the best of the best in the auto sector come forward and win big. Yamaha took the coveted TOTM home with its FZS Hybrid in the 2026 Commuter Motorcycle category. Launched earlier this year with new tech, the Yamaha FZS Hybrid impressed our jurors with its effortless ergonomics and efficient functionality. The FZS Hybrid managed to pip several impressive commuters in its category. Here are the other nominees for this year:

- Honda NX200 
- KTM 160 Duke
- Ola Roadster
- Yamaha XSR155

The Yamaha FZS Hybrid uses a starter motor generator, which develops additional torque at the crankshaft at lower revs, allowing for improved acceleration. There’s also the auto start/stop function to help improve fuel efficiency and allow for a more seamless riding experience. These improvements help the FZS Hybrid achieve a fuel economy of 60 kmpl (ARAI).

Our jurors liked the familiarity of the FZS, with its new technology making it even more likeable. The ergonomics are on point keeping things comfortable for the rider and pillion, while the motor is just peppy enough to allow quick overtakes in the city. The subtle styling revisions set it apart from the rest of the FZ range in the brand's lineup.
