2024 Acko Drive Awards: Maruti Suzuki Fronx Wins Subcompact SUV TOTM

Maruti Suzuki’s latest subcompact SUV, the Fronx, has bagged the honours of the 2024 Acko Drive Awards' Subcompact SUV of the Year. The Fronx stood out for its practicality, comfort and ease of ownership, being a product of one of the most trusted automotive manufacturers in India. 

The Fronx arrived on the scene in April 2024 and with it, it brought back Maruti Suzuki’s 1.0-litre ‘Boosterjet’ turbo-petrol engine to India. The Fronx also comes loaded with multiple powertrain options and many features like a head-up display, a 9.0-inch touchscreen display with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 360-degree camera, connected car tech and more.

Under the hood, the Fronx gets an 89 bhp, 113 Nm, 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 99 bhp, 148 bhp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. While both engines come with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the petrol engine gets a 5-speed AMT and the turbo-petrol gets a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Fronx also gets a factory-fitted CNG kit on the 1.2-litre petrol engine where it produces 76 bhp and 113 Nm and comes only with the manual gearbox. The Fronx is priced between ₹7.52 - 12.88 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). A special shoutout to the runner up of this category, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
