As part of Messe Frankfurt GmbH’s global Mobility and Logistics portfolio, Automechanika continues to connect the entire automotive aftermarket value chain across 16 countries.
The sixth edition of ACMA Automechanika in New Delhi concluded on a high note, reinforcing India’s growing stature in the global automotive components and aftermarket ecosystem. The trade fair attracted 35,750 visitors and featured 870 exhibitors from 20 countries, collectively showcasing over 3,000 brands. The event underscored rising localisation efforts, expanding export opportunities, and the increasing global interest in India’s automotive supply chain.
The three-day exhibition witnessed strong engagement from domestic and international stakeholders. Participating countries included Germany, Japan, Italy, USA, UAE, Spain, China, and Taiwan, among others. The surge in new participants is being attributed to India’s attractiveness as a manufacturing and sourcing hub for auto components and aftermarket solutions.
International exhibitors explored India as a base for exports to Africa and the Middle East, while others focused on electric vehicle (EV) components, sensors, and semiconductor partnerships. The growing presence of tier-2 and tier-3 city businesses reflected the industry’s expanding geographic footprint and the deepening integration of MSMEs into the automotive value chain.

The event was inaugurated by Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and Electronics and IT, Government of India. He emphasised India’s potential to become a trusted partner for the European Union and the United States, particularly in EV components and advanced automotive technologies.
Insights from the Economic Survey preceding the Union Budget 2026–27 reinforced this outlook. India exported over 5.3 million vehicles in FY25 and recorded double-digit export growth in the first half of FY26. The survey also highlighted the critical role of MSMEs in scaling manufacturing, a factor particularly relevant to the auto component sector.

India’s auto component industry is projected to attract USD 2.89–3.46 billion (₹23,990 crore – ₹28,720 crore) in FY26 for capacity expansion and EV part localisation, following estimated investments of USD 1.73–2.31 billion (₹14,360 crore – ₹19,170 crore) in FY25. MSMEs continue to supply essential components ranging from precision forgings to electronic sub-assemblies, reinforcing their role in the industry’s transformation.
Several exhibitors showcased new technologies and product developments at the latest edition of ACMA Automechanika. For instance, Hindalco Industries Ltd showcased a range of advanced components, including EV battery enclosures, crash boxes, ABS blocks, and front forks for two-wheelers, backed by its state-of-the-art welding and machining facilities in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, Horse Technologies introduced a hybrid engine for the Toyota Fortuner, slated for launch during Diwali 2026, signalling its intent to expand in the Indian market. Additionally, ZF Aftermarket India unveiled corrosion-resistant Sachs clutch discs and kits tailored for agricultural tractors, aimed at enhancing durability and performance across India and the IMEA region.

The exhibition featured conferences and workshops that delivered insights into emerging technologies, alternative fuels, digitisation of the aftermarket value chain, and anti-counterfeiting strategies. Practical sessions covered painting solutions, protective films, advanced cutting technologies, and cost-efficient workshop management practices. Such knowledge platforms played a vital role in fostering skills development and facilitating dialogue between industry experts, manufacturers, and service providers.
With vehicle penetration at just 48 cars per 1,000 people, compared to over 800 in developed markets, India’s automotive sector holds substantial long-term growth potential. Rising vehicle ownership, expanding road infrastructure, and increasing demand from tier-2 and tier-3 cities are expected to drive aftermarket growth.
