All-New Tata Sierra Gets Dolby Atmos Spatial Sound with 12-Speaker Configuration

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd (TMPVL) has partnered with Dolby Laboratories to fit its All-New Tata Sierra with Dolby Atmos immersive audio technology, the companies announced on Thursday. The SUV will incorporate a 12-speaker audio configuration engineered to give multidimensional sound across the entire cabin. Dolby Atmos technology enables audio to be placed and shifted around occupants, producing spatial sound characteristics that distinguish it from conventional stereo arrangements.

“At TMPV, every vehicle we craft is centred on elevating the customer experience. The Sierra has been one of India’s most eagerly awaited nameplates, and it was only fitting that a legend return with a truly legendary in-car experience. By integrating Dolby Atmos into the new Tata Sierra, we are bringing a transformative dimension to in-car entertainment — one that perfectly complements the vehicle’s performance, design and spirit of innovation," Mohan Savarkar, Chief Product Officer, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., said in a statement.

According to the announcement, the audio configuration is engineered to function with streaming services such as Gaana for musical content and Audible for audiobooks and podcasts.

The All-New Tata Sierra marks the revival of a nameplate from Tata Motors' previous range. The SUV is being targeted at motorists pursuing technology-oriented features alongside conventional automotive performance.
