Ampere NXG Spotted Before India Launch

Ampere’s upcoming family electric scooter called NXG has just been spotted amidst its K2K run (Kashmir to Kanyakumari). The 5,100 km long journey commenced on January 16, 2024 from Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir, and it will travel across the entire length of the country over 45 days. 

Hailed as the “Next Big Revolution On Wheels”, the Amper NXG will feature several “cutting-edge” features according to the brand. Starting with the touchscreen instrument cluster that Ampere says will have the brightest resolution and will be powered by Nex.IO (Ampere’s lingo for its operating software). 

Although mechanical details about the scooter are yet to be officially revealed, the Amper NXG will have four ride modes and feature a mid-mounted motor with a belt drive system. The electric scooter will be underpinned by telescopic fork and dual rear springs. Stopping power is courtesy a front disc and a rear drum brake setup. 

The upcoming Ampere NXG will also benefit from all-LED lighting and apron-mounted turn indicators. The battery pack will be located below the rider’s seat which leaves space for a flat footboard. Given that this will be a family e-scooter, the single-piece seat has been designed to accommodate two people comfortably. 

Bookings for the Ampere NXG have already commenced, and interested customers can do so for a token amount of ₹499. As for its price, the Ampere NXG is expected to slot above the Ampere Primus which costs ₹1.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In this price range, the NXG will compete against the likes of the TVS iQube, Ola S1 Pro, and Ather 450X.
