The Apple Watch Series 10 introduces a new design with larger and brighter screens, and a Titanium body option.
Apple launched its latest smartwatch, the Apple Watch Series 10, at the company's "It's Glowtime" event at Apple Park, California. Alongside the Series 10, Apple unveiled the Watch Ultra 2 in Black Titanium. Here's everything you need to know about the Apple Watch Series 10.
The Apple Watch Series 10 has a sleeker profile, measuring nearly 10% thinner than its predecessors (Series 7/8/9). Despite its slimmer form factor, the new watch houses a larger and more vibrant display. The wide-angle OLED screen is a standout feature, and Apple claims it offers 40% increased brightness compared to the Series 9, significantly improving visibility.
Apple has introduced new case sizes of 42mm and 46mm. The Series 10 introduces a polished aluminium option in a striking jet-black finish, achieved through a 30-step anodisation process. For those seeking a more premium look, the watch is also available in aerospace-grade polished titanium, replacing previous generations' stainless steel. The titanium models come in natural, gold, and slate colours and are significantly lighter than their stainless steel counterparts.
New watch faces take advantage of the Apple Watch Series 10's larger displays
At the heart of the Series 10 lies the new S10 SiP (System in Package), featuring a powerful 4-core Neural Engine. This chipset contributes to the watch's thinner profile and delivers enhanced performance and efficiency. The improved processing power enables more sophisticated on-device capabilities, including refined gesture recognition and advanced health monitoring features.
One of the most notable additions to the Apple Watch Series 10 is its ability to detect sleep apnea. The watch can monitor breathing disturbances during sleep using the accelerometer, potentially identifying signs of this severe condition. This feature will be available in over 150 countries this month and will be supported by Series 9, Series 10 and Ultra 2.
Apple Watch Series 10 can now achieve an 80% charge in just 30 minutes, addressing one of the most common pain points with previous models.
Swimmers, surfers, and divers will appreciate the Watch Series 10's enhanced aquatic features. The device maintains up to 50 meters of water resistance and introduces a depth gauge and water temperature sensor.
Users can now enjoy direct audio playback through the watch's built-in speaker, allowing them to listen to music, podcasts, and audiobooks without needing paired headphones. Additionally, a new voice isolation feature leverages the Neural Engine to suppress background noise during calls.
The Apple Watch Series 10 is set to hit the market on September 20, with pre-orders already open in India. Pricing for the new model starts at Rs 46,900 in India.
