Hyundai Motor India Registers A Growth Of 3.5 Per Cent

In April 2023, the country's second-largest carmaker achieved 12.9% growth selling 49,701 units, up from 44,001 units last year.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. registered steady growth in its domestic sales in the month of April 2023. The second largest carmaker in the country recorded 49,701 units in April 2023, a growth of 12.9 per cent as compared to 44,001 units sold in the same period last year. Overall, the company recorded marginal growth of 3.5 per cent, contributing to 58,201 units in April 2023, as compared to 56,201 units in April 2022.

Tarun Garg, COO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “We are delighted to register a healthy double-digit growth in the domestic market in the month of April.”

However, as far as exports go, the company is still reeling under various difficulties, as it registered a degrowth of 30.3 per cent in April 2023, distributing 8,500 units as compared to 12,200 units in April 2022.

Hyundai Motor India recently launched the new-generation Hyundai Verna with naturally-aspirated and turbocharged petrol engines, discontinuing its diesel range of the compact sedan. According to the company, the new Hyundai Verna has received an overwhelming response that has helped the company double its volumes from its outgoing model.

Garg added, “This strong growth has been backed by an overwhelming response to the recently launched all-new Hyundai Verna, which has more than doubled its volumes from its earlier version.”

Moreover, the company is currently preparing for the launch of the new Hyundai Exter, its entry-level micro SUV that will rival the likes of the Tata Punch and the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso in the Indian market. The new SUV will be positioned below the Hyundai Venue in the company’s SUV line-up.
