Aprilia has unveiled the RSV4 X-GP, a limited-edition superbike that brings cutting-edge MotoGP technology to the road for the first time. The Italian manufacturer will build just 30 examples of the machine, priced at €90,000 plus VAT, to celebrate ten years since the RS-GP's MotoGP debut. The bike debuted last weekend at the Catalan Grand Prix last week and represents a significant technological leap for production bikes, incorporating aerodynamic features previously exclusive to grand prix racing.
World-First Aerodynamics
The RSV4 X-GP becomes the first production-based motorcycle to feature leg wings and tail wings, technologies that Aprilia Racing developed and patented for its RS-GP25 MotoGP machine. These components generate significant downforce during braking and cornering, supported by front wings, under wings, and cornering wings.
Aprilia's patented ground-effect aerodynamics use specially shaped side fairings to reduce air pressure beneath the leaned-over motorcycle. The complete carbon-fibre fairing, manufactured by PAN Compositi using MotoGP processes, increases vertical load by five times on straights and triples it in corners.
Racing-Tuned Performance
The 1,099cc V4 engine produces 238 bhp at 13,750 rpm and 131 Nm of torque at 11,750 rpm, achieved through extensive modifications including higher compression ratio, Sprint Filter racing air filter, dedicated intake trumpets, and a titanium SC Project twin-pipe exhaust system with STM dry clutch.
Electronics are handled by Aprilia Racing's APX ECU, an evolution of the system that powered Max Biaggi's WorldSBK championship-winning RSV4. The unit manages wheelie control, traction control, engine braking, and power delivery gear-by-gear, with full data acquisition and GPS integration. Each bike includes a Yashi laptop with tuning software.
Track-Ready Components
The aluminium dual-beam frame features Öhlins suspension with dedicated setup, whilst braking comes from Brembo's radial master cylinder, GP4 MS callipers, Z04 racing pads, and 330mm T Drive discs. Forged magnesium Marchesini wheels wear Pirelli WorldSBK slick tyres.
Premium details include carbon-fibre components throughout, CNC-machined and numbered steering plates, oversized WSBK-derived radiators, and titanium final drive sprockets.
"Ten years after our return to MotoGP, we wanted to celebrate with a truly special machine that transfers the essence of the RS-GP25 onto a production bike," said Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Rivola. "The RSV4 X-GP delivers sensations usually reserved for professional riders."
Limited Availability
Orders open this month exclusively through factoryworks.aprilia.com, with each customer receiving the laptop, NFT certificate of authenticity, IRC tyre warmers, titanium paddock stands, and branded accessories.
The RSV4 X-GP joins Aprilia's exclusive X brand, which represents the manufacturer's most advanced production motorcycles, marked by the Roman numeral X for ten.
