The new naked on the 457 engine platform will become the most affordable Aprilia in India

Nearly 12 months after the launch of the RS 457, Aprilia is all set to launch its second made in India motorcycle: the Tuono 457. The launch of the naked will take place on February 17 and we will be riding the bike soon thereafter. And while our thoughts on the bike will be revealed only on February 21, we do know all what it is packing.

For starters, this is the only Tuono yet to ditch the half-faired look, opting for a more radical twin-LED bug face. From the steering head backwards, it is virtually the same as the RS 457 sans fairing and a single-piece raised handlebar replaces the clip-ons. The exposed parallel-twin engine looks neatly finished and the underbelly exhaust gets a neat cover too.

Speaking of which, Aprilia has not tinkered with the engine output of the 457 cc twin as it continues to put out in excess of 47 bhp and 43.5 Nm. Where the differences arise from its sport bike sibling is the final drive, where the rear sprocket is slightly larger, hoping to give the bike more commuter friendliness. Besides which, the electronics suite of three riding modes with switchable ABS and traction control will remain the same as will the optional quickshifter.

Aprilia might have tweaked the suspension tune slightly to suit the naked as the chassis components remain the same otherwise. Hence the same USD fork/monoshock setup, the front radial braking hardware and grippy TVS Protorq Extreme rubber will make their way here as well.

The Tuono 457 will be priced lower than the RS 457, which has seen a price bump up for 2025. The supersport is now priced at ₹4.20 lakh, and hence the naked could be priced ₹20,000 less, at ₹4 lakh (ex-showroom India). However, if Aprilia wanted to make the deal sweeter, a sub-₹4 lakh pricing would just be killer. It would still be a more premium proposition when compared to the KTM 390 Duke, which has just seen a price reduction. More details to follow soon.
