Aston Martin’s new supercar is likely to be called the Vanquish.

Aston Martin has announced a new V12 engine that will debut with its upcoming flagship supercar. While it did not specifically name the supercar, it did hint that it could be called the Vanquish.

The British marque revealed that its upcoming model will get a twin-turbocharged V12 engine that will produce 824 bhp and 1,000 Nm. Aston Martin has yet to reveal the displacement of the new engine, but it did mention the engine will get a strengthened cylinder block and conrods, redesigned cylinder heads and new intake and exhaust ports. All of this is said to improve the performance and efficiency of the engine.

Roberto Fedeli, Aston Martin’s Chief Technical Officer, said, “The V12 engine has long been a symbol of power and prestige, but it is also a statement of engineering passion and technical prowess. With 835 PS (824 bhp) and 1000 Nm of torque, this unparalleled engine represents nothing less than the dawn of a dazzling new V12 era for Aston Martin.”

Aston Martin also mentioned that its new engine will be featured in the brand’s exclusive and limited edition models. It will be handbuilt in limited numbers and will be first plonked into its new supercar, likely to be called the Vanquish which will debut later this year.

The Vanquish name first debuted in 2001 and the first generation was in production till 2007. The second generation Vanquish came in 2012 and was discontinued in 2018. The Vanquish has always been a front-engined, rear-wheel drive Grand Tourer that came with a V12 engine. Expect the third-generation model to follow the same recipe.
